Guatemalan Microloan Project
Presbyterian Women
Presbytery of Western North Carolina

Providing Guatemalan women opportunities to grow in self-esteem, hope, and freedom, and helping them develop sources of economic income for themselves and their families.

From participants: "We appreciate your great love, constantly manifested by the prayers and support you have given us. You have provided us with one of the best forms of support – decent work, the power to be providers, to meet the needs of our families, to change our way of seeing and acting."

The global pandemic has affected the microloan participants, their families, and everyone in Guatemala as it has those around the world. Despite the obstacles of illness, limitations on travel and meeting together, school closures, increased domestic workloads, and mental and emotional concerns, women in the microloan groups have persevered. Many have found creative ways to adapt their businesses to meet needs, while the staff of ADEHGUA has utilized technology to encourage and guide the women.
